Thank you for your interest and support in saving the historic DC Cook Administration Building from impending demolition. Since learning of the threatened demolition of this iconic building, NENA has met with City officials as well as DC Cook’s Chief Operating Officer and Plant Manager. The parties are discussing possible ways to postpone demolition. DC Cook has agreed to wait until January before it will request a demo permit.
While the City and NENA attempt to resolve this matter through negotiations, the community must be ready to respond quickly if no acceptable resolution is reached. Your voice and/or the affirmation of your organization will be essential in protecting this beautiful and foundational piece of Elgin’s history.
