The Elgin Parks and Recreation Department and NENA will celebrate the recent renovation of Douglas Park (261 Douglas Ave.) with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 6. The potluck is an event held in October each year. During the last few years NENA has been able to use the beautiful Lords Park Pavilion located on 100 Oakwood Boulevard for this gathering. NENA conducts a bi-annual house tour the first Saturday of December that typically includes five or six historic homes beautifully decorated for Christmas.
